Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Aurangabad & Exploration of Ellora
Morning (Arrival & Check-in) : Arrive at Aurangabad (Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar) by flight or train. A representative will meet you and transfer you to your pre-booked hotel. Check in and freshen up.
Lunch : Enjoy a traditional Maharashtrian or Indian lunch at your hotel or a local restaurant.
Afternoon (Ellora Caves & Grishneshwar) :
- Post-lunch, drive to Ellora Caves (approx. 1 hour). These caves are a UNESCO World Heritage site and a unique blend of Buddhist, Hindu, and Jain rock-cut temples, showcasing a remarkable harmony of different faiths.
- Explore the monumental Kailasa Temple (Cave 16), a monolithic structure carved from a single rock, which is the most spectacular highlight of Ellora.
- After the caves, proceed to the nearby Grishneshwar Jyotirlinga Temple (less than 1 km from Ellora). As one of the 12 sacred Jyotirlingas, this temple is a powerful spiritual experience. Spend time in darshan and soaking in the serene atmosphere.
Evening (Return to Aurangabad) : Drive back to Aurangabad. The evening is free for leisure. You can relax at the hotel or explore the local markets for souvenirs.

Day 2: The Magnificent Murals of Ajanta Caves
Morning (Drive to Ajanta) : Start your day early after breakfast. The drive to Ajanta Caves is longer (approx. 2.5 to 3 hours), but the scenic route makes it a pleasant journey.
Daytime (Ajanta Caves):
- Arrive at the Ajanta Caves, a UNESCO World Heritage site famous for its breathtaking rock-cut Buddhist cave monuments.
- Spend the day exploring the 30 rock-cut caves, which are adorned with stunning ancient paintings and sculptures depicting Jataka tales and the life of the Buddha.
Evening (Return to Aurangabad) : Begin your drive back to Aurangabad. Relax and reminisce about the incredible art and history you witnessed.
Dinner & Overnight Stay : Enjoy another night of comfortable rest in Aurangabad.
Day 3: Historical Forts & Departure
- After a leisurely breakfast, check out from the hotel.
- Start your day by visiting the formidable Daulatabad Fort, a historic hill fortress with a rich history. Spend a couple of hours exploring its unique defense systems and panoramic views.
- Next, visit the beautiful Bibi Ka Maqbara, often referred to as the “Mini Taj Mahal.” This mausoleum was built by Aurangzeb for his first wife, Dilras Banu Begum, and is a striking example of Mughal architecture.
Afternoon (Shopping & Departure):
- Depending on your departure time, you can visit the local markets of Aurangabad for some last-minute souvenir shopping, particularly for Himroo shawls or Paithani sarees.
- You will then be transferred to Aurangabad Airport or Railway Station for your onward journey, carrying with you memories of a truly spectacular historical and spiritual tour.
